The Best Hairstyles for Round Faces

I’ve never liked to admit it, but I have a round face. I feel that it makes me look chubby and unflattering and it was the reason I got teased a lot as a child. I’ve always wanted to hide my round face but was never given a chance. Growing up, my mother decided my hairstyle and it was often permed into curls, which earned me the nickname ‘Maggi Mee’ at school.

When I left home to attend University, I had the freedom to choose my hairstyle more freely. It was a time when there were fewer rules and regulations to follow with regards to personal appearance.

Through many experiments and adventures, I found that rounds faces look very nice with bangs ( some call them the fringe).

Here are some other things that look lovely on round face.

Full and Curly

If you have very thick hair, visit your stylist and go for loose curls. The largeness of the hairstyle will make your face look smaller and more angular. Be sure to ask for loose curls as small curls can make your hair look frizzy, which can make your face look bigger.

Soft, Layered Cut

Here’s one hairstyle that’s really easy to manage. It’s a layered cut, which ends at the shoulders. You can have it longer if you want. The key is to have your locks looks like their ‘wrapping around’ your face. This will hide the outer rim of your face, making it look slightly more angular.

Straight with Bangs

The long straight hair and the horizontal lines of the bangs function to balance out the roundness of the face, which makes this one of my favorite styles to have.
