Home Remedies for Greying Hair
Everyone’s hair will turn grey as they age. Greying hair can start even when you’re in your 20s or 30s. This depends very much on external factors such as your genes and the environment. Apart from that, things like inadequate nutrition, stress, hormonal imbalances and the like can also cause the appearance of grey hair.
If you’re worried about grey strands of hair showing up, these are some of the traditional home remedies that can help:
Blackstrap Molasses
Blackstrap molasses are leftovers from the process of making cane sugar when all the sugar has crystallized and separated. This leftover black liquid is rich in iron, manganese and selenium which will return hair to its original color. Blackstrap molasses can be consumed as a supplement once a day every two days for several months to see results. You should take about one tablespoon of it either alone or dissolved in a cup of warm water.
Onion Juice
Onion juice is rich in the catalase enzyme, phytonutrients, Vitamin C, folic acid and copper which are all able to delay hair greying and increase the health of your hair from its roots. To extract the juice, blend an onion and pour it into a cheesecloth. Strain and squeeze the liquid out and apply the liquid onto your scalp. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes before shampooing all the juice out. Repeat at least twice a week.
