Facial masks are pretty common and hold lots of benefit for your skin. In the same way, you can also use masks designed for the hair and scalp. Hair masks are available in pharmacies and haircare store, as well as online. These masks will help your hair grow healthier and stronger by imparting important vitamins, moisture and more.
You don’t have to spend a fortune for a good hair mask. In fact, all you have to do is use some ingredients that are already around the house, especially in your kitchen. Here are some recipes for homemade hair masks:
1.Coconut Oil + Honey ( Healing)
Mix 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon honey in a small pot and mix over low heat until melted together. Once slightly cool, gently massage the mixture int your hair. Let it stay for about 15-20 minutes before washing it off with a shampoo.
Coconut oil and honey both have repairing and healing properties.
2.Lemon + Apple Cider Vinegar + Yogurt ( Deep Cleansing)
Use this mask at least once every two weeks. It helps clear the scalp from buildup of bacteria, sebum, dead skin cells and other impurities. Mix two tablespoons of yogurt with one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of lemon. Apply on your scalp and use as described in the previous mask.
The apple cider vinegar and lemon are rich in vitamin C and have anti-bacterial properties.
3. Coconut oil + Cinnamon ( Promotes hair growth)
Ground cinnamon is rich in proteins that promote hair growth, and it smells wonderful too. For this hair mask, simply add a teaspoon of cinnamon to two tablespoons of coconut oil. Mix the cinnamon in thoroughly until the color of the coconut oil becomes brown.
Carefully massage this into your scalp from top to bottom and leave on for the usual amount of time, about 15-20 minutes.
