You may be wondering what glycerin soap is, and asking whether it can really be used to clean your hair. I started using glycerin soap about five years back as an experiment and have never looked back since.
What’s Glycerin Soap?
Glycerin is a type of fat from vegetable oil that is clear and solid. It’s usually extracted out from vegetable oil using a heating process. The difference between normal soap and glycerin soap is that glycerin soap doesn’t strip your skin of its natural moisture.
Another thing I love about glycerin soaps is that its often made with drops of essential oils. These scented oils have a therapeutic effect and can be very good for you if you want to relax after a stressful day. It’s easy to recognize glycerin soaps as they’re usually clear, like crystals.
It Improved My Dandruff
I’ve had bad dandruff for decades, ever since I was a teenager. Sometimes it gets worse and then it goes away. I’ve been trying all sorts of anti-dandruff shampoo but none of them work. Some of these shampoos even leave my scalp dry and itchy.
That’s when I tried this new scented soap that I bought. It was a clear glycerin soap and I has been trying so many things before, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try this soap on my hair. Plus I really loved the smell (It was peppermint, my favourite!)
Glycerin Soap’s Benefits
Glycerin soap is great for dry hair and scalps as it protects any natural oils and moisture of the skin and hair. It keep the skin moist, which means you won’t get oily hair, or dandruff in your hair. I do recommend this soap if you have dry hair. If you have dandruff, try using this soap alternatively with your anti-dandruff shampoo.
