2 Great ways to style your hair with a headband
That hairstyle is something women typically wear around Valentine’s Day, hence the opening.
This is a very quick and easy hairstyle to get if you know all the right tricks. Updo hairstyles are really catching on when it comes to Korean hairstyles and a simple hairstyle yet major attraction is a vintage chignon and retro headwrap, both done with the aid of a simple headband.
1.Vintage Inspired Headwrap with a Headband
- Slide a headband over your head, but this time stop right above the ears.
- Hold the headband in place at the back, and use the other hand to loosen up and separate parts of your hair.
- Now take a big lock of your hair from the side, slide it over and under the headband. Repeat this at least thrice so that you start to see a braid forming at the side.
- Repeat the same with the other side.
- You now have a piece of hair left at the back – pull it up, slide it over and under the headband as you did on both sides.
- Slide a pin through the middle part of your braided hair that’s running from the left ear to the right (viewed from the back).
- Take the loose ends of your hair from the front and curl them with a curling iron, working in a top-down motion.
2.Vintage Chignon with a Headband
- Slide a headband over your head so that it firmly rests around your neck. Pull your hair up and tie it neatly in place using a small rubberband.
- Slide your index finger through the back of your hair to part it, working your way down toward the rubberband; slide another finger through, pull both partings away and intertwine them above the rubberband.
- Loosen up a few strands of hair above the rubberband, and pull down on your ponytail so as to make the intertwined locks firmer.
- Now pull up your ponytail, make it into a circle, push it through the intertwined locks, and use a hairpin to lock it into place. Use a little hairspray so that the “upside down bun” holds firmly.
- Pull the headband (around your neck) up toward the top of your head, so that part of it sits below the upside down bun, running across your ears.
- Leave a few locks of hair on either side loose so as to highlight one side of your face better. That’s it, you are all set!
Now wear your best smile and knock your date off his feet!
